Ang Diaryo

Ang Diaryo is a news outlet created as a direct response to community needs. It is a news outlet born out of community organizing in the Los Angeles Filipino working class. This community is severely underserved by mainstream and Filipino/Fil-Am media. It is a difficult community to reach but these outlets also are not producing relevant and timely news and information.

Ang Diaryo is working to fill this news and information gap by leveraging our deep connection in the community to thoroughly understand its information needs and build an in-person distribution network for our monthly print magazine. This active distribution network will provide ample opportunities to sign community members up for our SMS engagement network.

Ang Diaryo was chosen as an inaugural news outlet for the Tiny News Collective.
